The Omaha World-Herald is looking to uncover the best in photography from Nebraska. Amateurs and professionals may submit photos, and voters will select the winners to be featured in the "Focus on Nebraska Football Fans" book that will be published later this year.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Open only to residents of the United States, except Florida, New York, Rhode Island, Washington and Puerto Rico, who are currently of the age of majority in their state of residence as of Saturday, April 6, 2013 through Sunday, September 15, 2013 and satisfy all eligibility requirements and these official rules. Employees of Omaha World-Herald Company and its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries (the “Sponsor”) and members of their immediate families (spouse, parents, children and their spouses) are not eligible. 

HOW TO ENTER: Your photo submission will be your official entry into the contest. You must enter online at www.omaha.com. Click on “Focus on Nebraska Football Fans” under the Contest page and then click on “Submit a Photo” to enter. Register by filling out the registration form or if you have already registered for an Omaha World-Herald contest, login using your username and password. Upload your photos. You can upload up to two photos per day. Choose the appropriate category and title for your photo(s).  Photos will be voted on by readers of Omaha.com. In order to be eligible for this contest, all entries must be received by Omaha.com no later than midnight on Sunday, September 15, 2013.

1. No more than two (2) entries per day are allowed. All entry forms must be received by Omaha.com by no later than midnight on Sunday, September 15, 2013 to be eligible for the prizes. Two winners will be selected from each category.  One will be determined based on people’s votes based on highest average rating and the other will be selected by the Omaha World-Herald editorial staff.  Limit to two photos per day. The same photo cannot be entered more than once. Entries (which include any photo submitted and any information on an entrant’s official entry form) may be published by the Omaha World-Herald in its sole discretion in any form of media at any time, including but not limited to publication in the Omaha World-Herald newspaper or on its website, omaha.com. Entries that are incomplete, illegible or damaged are void and will not be accepted. Sponsor is not responsible for misdirected, lost, late, or damaged entries. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. The Omaha World-Herald reserves the right to reject any submission.

B.   This is a book about Nebraska Football Fans so photos should be of Nebraska Football. When you submit a photo, we will ask you where it was taken. Photo guidelines are as follows:

• JPEG format.
• You must be the photographer.
• No borders.
• No obtrusive text or watermarks on photo.
• No nudity.
• No obscene or lewd signs, gestures or conduct.
• No collages.
• No enlargements. Photo must be uploaded in its original size.
• No non-photos such as drawings, paintings, and screen shots.

1. Please provide a caption for your photo that is concise and relevant. We may use or edit your caption.
2. Picking the right category for submitting your photo is very important. People usually vote by category because they are interested in a particular subject. If you submit your photo to an incorrect category, it may not receive any votes because it’s not what voters want to look at. There is a wide range of categories so one should be the right fit for your photo.
3. An entrant in this contest may only submit a photo for which the entrant owns all right, title and interest and the entrant must have obtained the permission of all persons identifiable in the photo to submit any photo in this contest. Submission of any photo constitutes the entrant’s representation that the conditions in this paragraph have been satisfied. Each entrant shall hold the Omaha World-Herald harmless from claims of any third party relating to publication by the Omaha World-Herald of the photo or any caption or other information provided by the entrant in any form of media, including but not limited to publication in the Omaha World-Herald newspaper or on its website, omaha.com, or in the “Focus on Nebraska Football Fans” book. By submitting any photo, the entrant grants the Omaha World-Herald the rights and privileges set forth in these rules.

ENTRY CONSTITUTES PERMISSION TO PUBLISH.  Any photo submitted during the contest (and any information submitted by the entrant on the online entry form, including but not limited to caption and entrant’s name) may be published in the Omaha World-Herald newspaper and/or omaha.com, or in any other form of media, including in the “Focus on Nebraska Football Fans” book, at any time and for any length of time, including but not limited to publication for any marketing, advertising or other form of promotion for the “Focus on Nebraska Football Fans” book, this contest or any other photo contest by Sponsor.  Any publication pursuant to the rights granted herein does not entitle the entrant or any other person to any form of compensation.

HOW TO VOTE: Click on “Vote.” First time voters will need to register. Returning voters will be asked to login. Voters may choose to vote on all photos, certain categories, or pick and choose the photos they would like to rate. Votes are based on voters rating the photo on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest). Winning photos will be selected based on highest average rating, with the tie breaker being the number of votes received. The Omaha World-Herald reserves the right to select another photo if the winning photo is unsuitable for publication due to poor quality.

SELECTION OF WINNER AND PRIZE:

Two winners will be selected from each category.  One will be determined based on people’s votes based on highest average rating and the other will be selected by the Omaha World-Herald editorial staff. The winning photos and winners’ names will be displayed in the “Focus on Nebraska Football Fans” book, available in mid-November 2013. Winning photos may be edited or modified for publication in the “Focus on Nebraska Football Fans” book.  Each winner will receive one free “Focus on Nebraska Football Fans” book (retail value $29.95).  The winners will be notified promptly after the voting ends. All taxes and all other expenses or liabilities associated with the acceptance and/or use of any prize are the sole responsibility of each winner.

In addition to being published in the “Focus on Nebraska Football Fans” book, each winner’s photo and name (and other information submitted by the entrant, such as caption) may in Sponsor’s sole discretion be posted (in a form and format and for such duration as determined by the Sponsor) on both the Omaha World-Herald newspaper and the contest page on omaha.com, and may be used in any promotion or advertising of this contest or similar future photo contest by Sponsor.  Entry in the promotion or acceptance of any prize constitutes permission to publish each winner’s name, information submitted pursuant to contest entry (including caption), and photo submission in any form of media.

DISCLAIMER:  Each winner assumes all liability for any injury or damages caused or claimed to be caused by participation in the promotion and/or the acceptance and/or use of any prize. Each winner hereby releases the Omaha World-Herald and each of their respective officers, directors and employees, from any such liability. Entry or acceptance of any prize constitutes permission to use or publish each winner’s name, information submitted pursuant to contest entry, and the submitted photograph in any form of media for purposes of advertising promotion and publicity without additional compensation, and the Omaha World-Herald is released from all liability relating to use or publishing each winner’s name, caption and/or the submitted photograph in any form of media in any manner.

By entering this contest, each entrant agrees that (i) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the drawing or the prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (ii) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs, directly or indirectly associated with entering this contest, but in no event will attorneys' fees be awarded or recoverable; and (iii) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby knowingly and expressly waives all rights to, any damages other than actual out-of-pocket expenses.

The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. IN NO EVENT SHALL SPONSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THE DAMAGES. IN ANY EVENT THE MAXIMUM AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF SPONSOR TO ANY PERSON DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY RELATING TO THIS PROMOTION OR THE AWARD, USE OR ENJOYMENT OF ANY PRIZE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE SUM OF $5.00.

MISCELLANEOUS:

This contest is sponsored by the Omaha World-Herald. Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw or cancel this promotion at any time for any reason and award the prize from among the eligible entries received prior to the date of the withdrawal or cancellation. Entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the judges, whose decisions are final. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from this promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify from this promotion any person it believes has violated these rules.
